What is premature rupture of the membranes (PROM)?
Premature rupture of membranes (PROM) is an obstetric complication in which the amniotic membranes rupture before the onset of labour and before 37 weeks of amenorrhoea. This condition can have serious consequences for both mother and baby, including infections, premature delivery and neonatal complications.

What is the threat of Preterm Labour (PTL)?
Threat of Premature Birth (PTL) is a complication of pregnancy defined as the risk of a pregnant woman going into labour between the 22nd and 36th amenorrhoea week2, giving birth to a premature baby.
Testing for fetal fibronectin (fFN), a protein produced by the trophoblast and normally present in the amniotic fluid and also around the amniotic sac, enables early detection of PTL when this protein is found in vaginal secretions.3 Early detection of PTL could therefore prevent premature delivery.

The advantages of our solutions in Gynecology-Obstetrics
For healthcare professionals
Our solutions make it possible to quickly direct the diagnosis, often in a few minutes, which facilitates faster decision-making. They also help avoid the overuse of tocolytics and antibiotics, thereby limiting the risk of side effects. In addition, they offer a significant reduction in hospitalization costs, while enabling clear interpretation of results for more accurate and effective management.
For patient well-being
Using our solutions helps reduce wait times for results, thereby reducing the stress associated with uncertainty. They also help reduce the stress generated by clinical examinations, making the experience more peaceful for the patient. Thanks to improved management of the care pathway, they avoid unnecessary hospitalizations, while reducing the risk of serious complications that would require emergency hospital care.
