Test for detecting premature rupture of fetal membranes (PROM test)
Toda Amniodiag® 5 cassette is an immunochromatographic cassette test for the detection of foetal membrane rupture (FMR) by detection of the IGFBP-1 protein from the pregnant woman’s amniotic fluid. The test uses a pair of monoclonal antibodies that detect the protein from a vaginal swab.
Detection of IGFBP-1 in vaginal swabs enables reliable diagnosis of premature rupture of membranes, avoiding unnecessary hospitalisation and additional costs. What’s more, in the event of premature rupture of the membranes, the foetus is exposed to major infectious risks, particularly streptococcus B, which can cause the infant’s death.
